So, how was your season? With a couple weeks to look back, have you taken stock yet?
Did you see any new places, meet any new people? How did your dog do?
Where we encountered it the wind, cold and wet just made the blue skies bluer. I worked with a great TV crew who knows what they’re doing and has some incredible ideas. You’ll see what I mean this fall on the show. Made some new and saw some old friends along the way, which wound from Oregon to Washington to Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota and Kansas. Each state had its own magic, from both the birds and people to the scenery.
[Hey, when you’re done here, take our Delta Waterfowl QuickPoll and you might win some great gear – two subjects, and you might get on my radio show too. Go here.]
The season was book-ended by the same spot shared with different friends. Both weekends were spent in about the latitude and longitude, very familiar places, but looked at quite differently thanks to the company.
How about your dog? Besides stellar performances (some on camera), I’m grateful Buddy came through without injury (and so did I). In fact, compared to last year (three hospital stays, two surgeries) every hill, every climb, every step was a victory.
How about you? Did you get to those places on your “A” list? Did you find a new spot, or re-discover an old reliable one? What happened to you that will be indelibly etched in your conscious for years to come?
Scott-As a new hunter this year was my first full season and my first with a new puppy. What a wonderful and life changing time it has been. To have taken this puppy at 12 weeks and watch her grow and enjoy the new adventure together has been amazing. Add to that the fact that my daughters have gained an appreciation for the dog’s work and the outdoors and our time together has far exceeded our expectations. Buffy (my now 10 month female Brit) and I hunted around 35 times this season. I can’t wait for more….so much so that we were able to get our 42 acre CRP farm licensed as a Illinios Registerd Dog Training area. Now we can work through the summer preparing for the fall. Thanks for all the help through your website and show…Joe
Welcome to our world, Joe. And you are welcome, too. You are a lucky guy.
