Hey everyone, I’ll be doing more issue-oriented discussion on my weekend radio show and you can help! In exchange, you might win a Cabela’s gift certificate, or other great prizes. What’s on your mind in the outdoor world? Leave a comment here.

In Illinois the northern duck season closed on
12/12/09 the goose season closes on 1/09/10.
We hold many birds that do not go down to
southern Illinois any longer. The politics in our DNR is still be dictated by the old line
goose hunting clubs in the south. We need help in getting the realization that the north is where the taxpayers and majority of hunting license holders live. The upshot is the seaons open about two weeks too early
and goose should not close until the end of
January. We have a early September goose
season that would be better suited by having a February Canada only season.
My black labrador Crockett and I hunt both
upland and waterfowl here in Illinois and
Wisconsin. I think Crockett enjoys upland
hunting better.
Thanks,
Tom
As you have learned, politics and biology don’t mix. Though I’ve learned that it doesn’t take many squeaky wheels to get some attention. Talk with your state legislator!
Hey Scott,
Gunfit: it’s more important than most field hunters realize if you want to hit those birds you have worked so hard for. Please talk about this and , most importantly, include a list of GUNFITTERS for each state. Everyone says gunfit is most important, but they do not say where you can find one. And I mean I real gunfitter with a try-gun, not just someone trying to sell you a gun. Not so easy, once you try it.

PS
If you do talk about it, please let me know so I can tune in!
Amen Jim. And on top of that, take a lesson. And before you do that, find out if you’re cross-dominant! PS: Nice looking pup. Good to see you at Jack’s.
