If you’ve ever hunted them, you can appreciate their mystery, guile, and how hard they are to shoot! That’s the chukar partridge and they prove the axiom “the first time you hunt them is for fun, after that, it’s for revenge.”
Well, a friend of mine stumbled onto a great resource while we were talking/websurfing recently. Go to http://www.ndow.org/about/pubs/reports/1970_Chukar-Partridge_Bulletin.pdf
And learn everything you ever wanted to know about the critter … up to 1970, when the paper was last revised.
Then, tell me where you go to hunt the SOBs!
Thanks for the link to the Chukar publication! Some great info.
Scout (my lab/setter) and I got into some birds the last few days of the season in the SE part of the state. Had a great time, and great learning experience. (Our first Chukar hunt).
One thing for sure, better be in good shape, and quick with the gun!
Nothing like a 1500 foot hike straight up in elevation to start each day!!
Dog barely moved for the first two days back after hunting hard for 3 1/2 straight days!!
You’re welcome, and spread the word and invite other chukar fiends over to the site. Thanks.
