Yep, it's the ultimate retrieving training aid ... behaves as much like a dead bird as I've ever seen ... except for the smell. I'll try one in my launcher and see how far it goes.

It looks intriguing. Is there a "hard" head so dogs don't learn to carry the bird by it's upper neck/head area? It also looks really flat. I'm assuming you can increase the filling depending upon what you want to work with your dog to retrieve. I'd be interested in giving it a try.

So what is it? I new sort of bumper? Going a softer direction to teach pick up and feel? Can you actually put a bird in it? Always looking for things to practice retrieves with.. Now if only they made them launchable.. Interesting indeed though.

I think "bota" is Spanish for "bag." You might know it as a wine skin. Because you squirt the fluid (Buddy prefers a dry Rhine, of course), both dogs and humans can share the same water source.

Nice website Scott! Love the puppy training tips. Where were you when I was trying to train little Miss Maddie, and our middle of the night journeys outside became a nightmare? I never thought about keeping things dark. I turned on every light in my house on the way out the door - and of course the outdoor light to boot! Maybe that was my problem - I was telling her it was DAYTIME - and time to get up and play.

On the other hand, she seems to think she is a cat - very nocturnal for some reason. I have now started her on melatonin - Vet's advice - trying to get her sleeping patterns more in synch with mine. Sure hoping that it works!

Have a very nice weekend, and please tell Karen hello from me :).
