Thanks Chris. I hope to get my fair share of private-ground hunting in SD, and here in the West, much of the best chukar hunting is on BLM. If I'm near KS, I'll contact you!

To bad you have to keep it to mostly public access. Plenty of birds out here in Kansas, but I leave that public stuff to the out of towners. If you want some time on private ground let me know!

Scott,

Have you head of the Halsey national forest in Halsey, Nebraska. Its a honey hole of public land field with tons of acres of pasture with a mix bag of Priarie Chickens and Sharpies. HAs excellent accomadations for camping and excellent bird hunting and its all managed by the Nebraska game and parks. I would love to help you out if you get into Nebraska I have places to hunt lots and lots of birds. Let me know if you'll be treaking across Nebraska or maybe a co-host.

I have been planning the trip you are talkin abut for some time. I have recently retired and I got a Brittany and just bought a little motor home. I plan on going to Montana, N and S Dakota for Pheasants, sharptails and huns. I will be hunting all public land and staying in my motor hme. I have gathered info from local people I have met on websites like gun dog form and chiefs brittanys and craiglist. I have plans to hunt with some of them. It looks like I will be starting in the medicine lake area of montana. If you want to join up with the working mans hunt come meet me. I am coping with $5 a gallon gas and still making the trip no fancy lodges or high society guides just a man and his dog searching for birds.
I am starting out from the NYC area and will be out west abot a month. I have a post in the hunting section of the GDF titled "where wold you go" if you want to see it and a pic of my caper.

What I'd really like to do is send you my dog! After a trip like that I am sure she would come back a REAL hunter.

While I am kidding regarding my dog, now that I think about it that could be an interesting facet/aside of your show. Get a somewhat trained but green dog and track its development along the journey. You could also give some equipment reviews - i.e. the latest tracker systems.

Since you are shooting video and have a website - I think it would be very interesting for you to have a LIVE WEBCAM so we could be voyeurs of your trip.

Get a new angle to the often repetitive hunting shows - like hunt with some women, shoot a local clays course.

Best of luck,
Gary
